The Imbabura volcano is located in the province of the same name in Ecuador; with an approximate height of 4,639 masl. To the north of the volcano and in its skirts, is the city of Ibarra; and to the south, Lake San Pablo, very close to the city of Otavalo. It is known as Taita (dad in Quichua) Imbabura. In indigenous culture, Taita Imbabura is the husband of Mamá Cotacachi, and the couple has children like Yana Urku (black mountain), Piñan, etc.
We leave at 4:30 am from the office or hotel. Our transport takes us approximately 1 hour to reach the last indigenous community from where we begin our ascent to the Imbabura Volcano summit, a measure that we are moving forward we will have a panoramic view of the surroundings. At the last part of the volcano we go like a climbing but nothing technical.
We will reach the summit of the volcano and take the opportunity to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful views that the imbabura volcano offers.
At an appropriate time we will return to the starting point. We will take our transportation and return to the Otavalo city and end of services.
